What is the best way to display a doily for a wall hanging?

My sister sent me a beautiful doily that she tatted. I would love to display it on my wall. What is the best way of doing that? The doily is antique white in color.

First you prepare it. Handwash, and treat with a stiffener or starch; (read instructions), then iron with a towel over it, or stretch it using non rust pins. After that, I would cover it with acid free clear plastic. leaving several inches around every side.. Once that is done, you can frame it any way you would a photo, cutting the clear plastic to size.

My Mother In Law insisted on useing a professional to frame her work, but they did such a bad job, she had to make them do the whole thing over, and the owner of the store refunded her money, after correcting the problem. If you don’t know what the end product should look like, you need to talk to a vintage supply shop (antique dealer) in your area.
