Does this first day of school outfit sound good?

I don’t know if it’s too casual, or too plain? I was going to wear dark denim shorts with a dark purple v-neck shirt. The purple color is gorgeous. :O And either a gray lace or white cami under it. I haven’t decided yet. And some matching purple flip flops (or should I do gray?). My toenails are painted a shimmery light pink color. (: And I was going to straighten my hair and do a light purple eye shadow with some silver jewelry. I don’t know. My friend said she’s wearing a billabong dress, and now I feel like I’m dressing too casually. I have long dark brown hair, and green eyes. Thoughts?
Might I add, it’s going to be over 100 degrees, so I won’t get cold or anything. (:
