Bobbin Jamming Singer

sewing machine question.?
Help!! I have a Singer 3116 – SIMPLE. I’m having problems with it. The thread is getting jammed underneight were the bobbin is. The thread is getting wrapped around the parts under where your bobbin goes. It’s like I put the parts back in wrong but that’s not possible because I can’t put it in any other way.
The frustrating thing is that I’ve already made 3 seams and it worked fine. Now all of a sudden it’s starting to jam. I don’t know how to fix it. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.
Always try changing to a fresh needle before digging deeper. A simple bend or burr can be really problematic. I once took one of my machines for a ride, convinced there was a tension problem. Pretty embarrassing when all the Singer Authorized Repair Guy did was change the needle.
If your problem is intermittent and makes no rhyme or reason (changing needle; rethreading; double checking bobbin) it could well be the “uptake”. That was the problem I had with my compound walker (Singer 111w155 – industrial).
